Jan Schellink [NL] -
Jan Schellink is a multitalented performer. He will bring his electric wok to Franje Arendal.
Spullenmannen [NL] - The Press
The Spullenmannen use a press to squeeze sounds out of various objects. The objects are prepared with great precision and then put under pressure more and more, until they crack. Bring your own objects and be surprised by the secret sound they carry with them and by the poetic images they convey when being demollished.
Peter Uithoven [NL] - Finite Racetrack
Finite Racetrack is an altered toy racetrack, made to convey a concept. It challenges you to drive 10 laps as quickly as possible. Racers are presented with a dilemma, as they are using the same battery - they have to balance their usage to reach the end. But... what will happen when one of them won't? It's the Tragedy of the Commons, simplified.
Eva Delincakova and Peter Uithoven [SK/NL] - Stop and Play
Have you ever watched somebody doing something? Maybe you watched a postman delivering mails, or maybe you watched a singer last Friday night. While you watched, you understood people's actions in terms of the identity they claimed and the social function they played. Basically, when you observe somebody working, you can understand the person as a social object.
But let me ask you something. Have you ever watched yourself? Have you ever felt embarrassed or laughed at yourself? How is that different from watching other people? How often and how well do you analyze your own life? This project is an interactive animation, the life journey of the author based on her diary. By paying attention the audience influences the speed of this journey, as if they where able to make the main character stop and think. In the end of the journey, the main character is visited by her childhood. She is reminded of the playfulness she lost by just living her life thoughtlessly. And this playfulness and creativity are adding colors to our life. It's like we get rid of our toys when we grow up. We should always try to keep a toy in our pocket. A project by: Eva Delincakova and Peter Uithoven Spullenmannen [NL] - The Tweak Show
Curiosity is a driving force for both artists and scientists. And the best way to satisfy this curiosity is to carry out an experiment. The "Tweak Show" is a touring exhibition that bridges the gap between art and science. Old machines are being re-used as tools to unravel the laws of nature. An exhibition full of beautiful objects, and this time you are allowed to touch them.
Martin van Gastel [NL/NO] -
Drummer Martin van Gastel explores the sound the interiors of a washing machine and more...
